Your words betray my feelings on the issue ...Kari,
Your words betray my feelings on the issue as well. As for patriotism, I feel I have certainly grown more grateful for the blessings I received just by virtue of being American. I would even say I have grown to love the place more, but I have no idea how that will strike me once I am back in that society. Living over here has changed so much about how I understand rights, privileges and blessings.

As for your sentiments about not feeling at home. I relate to that whole-heartedly. I have been working through those very feelings for the last several months. I don't really know where I would call home now, save the one I have not yet seen.

Thanks for your words. You know how I feel...Keelanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05054541671583719941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7842045414157103842.post-71088346659995630292011-07-05T09:47:02.890-05:002011-07-05T09:47:02.890-05:00Yes, the shock will be hard and I can say after 5....Yes, the shock will be hard and I can say after 5.5 years since returning from the filed I still don't feel like I fit in here in the states. I am not extremely patriotic nor do I feel like a lot of Americans that this is the best place on Earth. But I think I am blessed and like the fact that I do not feel at "home" because it makes me long for my REAL home all the more.
